Magistrates directed to monitor prices of daily-use items

SAHIWAL – Commissioner Qazi Muhamad Ashfaq Qureshi has directed the price magistrates of the division to strictly monitor the prices of daily-use items to provide relief to the common men.
The exploitation of consumers by hoarders and wholesalers would not be tolerated, the commissioner warned. He added the display of price lists of all commodities would control their rates considerably.
He issued this warning while chairing a meeting in his office to monitor the prices of essential commodities. Sahiwal DCO Waqas Ali Mahmood, Pakpattan DCO Syed Haider Iqbal, Okara DCO Babar Shafi and the revenue officers of all the three districts of the division were also present.
The commissioner asked all the DDOs (revenue) and secretaries of market committees to visit fruit and vegetable markets daily in the morning to fix fair prices of essential commodities. The meeting was told that in the Sahiwal division, 70 price magistrates have been notified for price checking.
