LAHORE – The mother of PML-N leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif was laid to rest at her native graveyard in Sialkot in the presence of the mourners from all walks of life, reported a private TV channel Saturday.
Kh Asif’s mother had died after a protracted illness on Friday evening. Senate Chairman Farooq Naek, parliamentarians, industrialists, journalists and others attended the funeral. After attending her funeral at the Imam Sahib Graveyard, they went to the house of Kh Asif.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also visited Kh Asif’s residence to condole the death. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa, MQM chief Altaf Hussain and others have expressed condolence over the sad demise.
