LAHORE – Islampura police arrested a member of the gang involved in selling one house to five different people, on Friday. Moin Butt had filed a complaint that Mrs Ashraf, a resident of Shah Jamal, and her son Muhammad Shahid Mian had come to him to sell their property for Rs 15 million.
The complainant stated that to purchase the property he paid Rs 7 million in advance in the presence of witnesses. He said that later when he paid the remaining amount the selling party started dodging around. The police inquired on Butt’s complaint and found out that the same house was sold 15 years ago to Faiz Rehman, a resident of Faisal Town, for Rs 5.7 million, and also to Muhammad Husain, a resident of Model Town, and to two other people as well.
Butt said the accused registered the house on the name of a famous drug dealer and the gang had been threatening him for 1.5 years. Police registered a case against the gang and arrested one member of the gang while five male and two female members of the gang managed to escape.
