KARACHI – Provincial Census Commissioner Sindh Noor Muhammad Leghari along with Joint Census Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Baloch and Deputy Census Commissioner Muhammad Ashfaque visited various areas of the Korangi Town on Friday and inspected the ongoing house listing operation in the area.
He was briefed by the Korangi Town Administration and revenues staff joint vigilance team during the visit.
On the occasion, the provincial census commissioner inquired about the work being carried out by the designated on-duty staff and gave necessary guidelines to them.
“A control room has been set up to remain in touch with the staff for any grievances, complaints or suggestions regarding the census work,” said Leghari.
He also urged upon the notables of the area that if any house details may have remained unregistered, they must contact the authorities concerned or him to include the house in the operation. “The ongoing work is related to house listing and not population census, which will be started in August,” he added.
Later, the Sindh census commissioner visited the Chakra Goth, Noorani Basti No 1 and 2 and other neighbouring parts of the Korangi PS-124 and directed the superintendent in charge concerned and the staff to include every house and structure in the operation as no negligence would be tolerated at any stage.
During his visit, Leghari also marked the number of a house for the listing operation.
