QUETTA – A man was killed and 19 others, including nine FC personnel, were injured in a bomb attack in Balochistan’s Punjgur district on Friday. Police said the target of the bomb attack was a vehicle carrying Balochistan FC personnel, but police and civilians also became targets.
Police officer Amir Humza Langov said the FC vehicle was passing Chitkan Bazaar when the remote-controlled bomb fitted to a parked motorcycle was detonated. As a result, nine FC personnel, three police constable, a Levies sepoy and seven civilians received injuries. The injured were shifted to a local hospital where one, Abdul Hameed, succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways police arrested a gunrunner after recovering six hand grenades and material used in explosive from him in Chaman. The Railways police found the explosives from a passenger of Quetta-bound train.
