‘Notorious bandit’ with head money of Rs 1 million arrested

KARACHI – In the last 24 hours, Sindh police have arrested over 150 suspects, including an alleged notorious bandit with head money of Rs 1 million, and recovered illegal weapons and drugs from their possession.
The New Faujdari police of Shikarpur district arrested alleged notorious bandit Azim alias Kazim Jatoi who had head money of Rs 1 million. The detainee was said to be involved in 94 heinous criminal cases.
In various actions, the law enforcers arrested 37 suspects for heinous crimes, whereas 32 were caught red-handed from separate crime scenes. Six absconders and 77 proclaimed offenders were also arrested.
The law enforcers recovered seven Kalashnikovs, two rifles, 15 pistols, a repeater, five other guns, 261 rounds, 2.91kg hashish and 56g heroin from the detained suspects.
The Civil Lines police arrested nine suspects, including alleged street criminals, and recovered weapons, drugs and stolen items from their possession.
Following the directives of South Zone DIG Iqbal Mehmood and Saddar Town SSP Irshad Sehar, Civil Lines SHO Fawad Khan and his police party arrested alleged street criminals Gul Ghafoor and Khawar alias Nana from Hijrat Colony and recovered two TT pistols and a snatched motorcycle from them.
After an encounter with alleged bandits in Hijrat Colony, the law enforcers arrested Ismail, the alleged mastermind of a gang of bandits, and recovered a TT pistol and Rs 200,000 cash from him. However, his accomplice managed to escape.
On a tip-off, the Civil Lines police carried out a raid near the railway tracks in the Hijrat Colony area and arrested alleged robber Wazir Rehman and recovered a TT pistol from him.
The law enforcers also detained five alleged drug peddlers and recovered drugs from them.
South DIG presented a certificate and prize to the Civil Lines SHO in recognition of his efforts to curb criminal activity in his area.
