Early rehabilitation of Madayan-Kalam section stressed

MURIDKE – Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan has directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to carry out rehabilitation of Madayan-Kalam section of N-95 on top priority basis. He said the residents of Swat were facing difficulties due to the damaged road and added that quick steps should be taken to revive the road.
He was accompanied by NHA Chairman Muhammad Junaid, Peshawar NHA General Manager (GM) Yusuf Ali and senior officers of the Ministry of Communications, NHA, and Frontier Works Organizations (FWO). Muhammad Junaid told the federal minister that the (N-95) Chakdara-Kalam Road was damaged due to the last year floods at various places as 45 Km road from Madayn to Kalam had been totally washed away while rest of the road also needed major maintenance and repair work.
The minister was also told that law and order situation in the region had badly hampered the rehabilitation work. NHA chairman further told the federal minister that various local and international organisations had shown interest in the construction work and added that the NHA had completed the design of the road.
