KARACHI – Ambassador of Federative Republic of Brazil Alfredo Leoni called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the Chief Minister’s House on Friday.
According to an official handout, both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.
The Brazilian ambassador said that cordial relations exist between Pakistan and Brazil, and the relations will be further strengthened day by day.
The chief minister briefed the ambassador on the performance and efforts made by Sindh government during the past three years for the tasks and projects under various aspects aimed at providing basic facilities to the people.
Despite heavy floods last year, the people of the province have fully participated in efforts of rehabilitation and restructuring process carried out by the government, he added.
Shah maintained that the Pakistani government, under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, was doing a lot for progress and prosperity of the nation.
He added that there has been remarkable progress in the fields of agriculture, industries, mines and mineral development, communication network and information technology aimed at alleviating poverty and imparting job-oriented skills to unemployed youth.
The chief minister hoped that relations between Pakistan and Brazil would further strengthen. He also presented traditional gifts of Khais, Ajrak and Sindhi cap to the Brazilian ambassador, thanked the chief minister for warmly welcoming him and showing hospitality.
