Saud, Khurram released from Adiyala on bail

RAWALPINDI – Former city police officer (CPO) Saud Aziz and superintendent of police Khurram Shahzad, both accused in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case, were released on bail Thursday from the Adiyala Jail after they furnished surety bounds and surrendered their passports.
Aziz and Shahzad were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the Benazir murder case. The lawyer of both police officials submitted their surety bounds worth Rs 1 million each and their passports to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), after which the court issued orders to jail authorities to release both the accused.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) had granted bails to both accused on Wednesday.
