LAHORE – The Government College University’s Career Guidance and Placement Center is going to hold one of the biggest career fairs for the university students and Old Ravians on April 12 on the university campus.
GCU Placement Officer Waqar Rhanja said that the career fair would allow GCU final year students and graduates to explore career opportunities at reputed organisations besides giving them opportunities to avail themselves of foreign scholarships.
As many as 30 well-reputed banks, NGOs and multinational companies including Allied Bank, WWF Pakistan and Nestle are coming to GCU in search of talented and committed students. Waqar Ranjha said that the best part of the Career Fair is that the companies would hold written tests and on-campus interviews and shortlist the candidates on the spot.
The British Council and the United States Education Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) will also set up their stalls and brief the students about the various available foreign scholarships including the Fulbright and also guided them about the procedures, requirements and eligibility criteria.
Ranjha said the career fair has become the regular annual feature as the GCU CGPC has been conducting it for the last four years. He claimed that this year’s carreer fair would be the biggest and Old Ravians who are still looking for better job opportunities can also be benefit from the fair.
GCU CGPC Incharge Yousaf Bashir said that the Career Fair aims to build a strong foundation for professional careers of students.
