KARACHI – The price of gold has surged to a record high of Rs 46,350 per tola (11.665 grams) due to a price hike in the international market. As the trend in gold prices was sustained in both local and international markets, gold traded at the record high of Rs 46,350 per tola in Pakistan.
According to sources the bullion rates have climbed to the highest level, surpassing the previous record of Rs 46,000 a tola, while the international spot gold rates rose to $1,444 an ounce with an increase of $59 per ounce.
The increase was witnessed after the price of gold in the international market continued to mount alongside the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, sources said. This was another record high price after the international price of gold rose by $44 per ounce previously, they said.
