Vintage cars adorn the roads

LAHORE – The Lahore Shopping Festival entered its third phase with the success of its four events held on Tuesday. The events were Young Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition, opening of My Lahore; a photography competition and exhibition, Vintage Car Rally and World Punjab Organization Musical Evening.
MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest at the opening of the business plan and photography competitions. The Vintage Car Rally started from the parking area of the Liberty market and ended at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). For being the first of its kind, people appreciated the rally and lined up to witness the event arranged by the LCCI in collaboration with the Punjab government.
Speaking at the photography competition, Hamza praised the participants of the photography competition and said that the event would help highlight the tourism potential of the Lahore. Hamza said the country was fortunate enough to have more than 50 percent of its population below the age 25 and the people had the potential to change the destiny of the country that has been facing multiple challenges for some time now.
Addressing the participants of the Vintage Car Rally, Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ali Khan said that Lahore Shopping Festival had given a pleasant opportunity to Lahoris who were looking for such functions. He said the Punjab government would continue to support such events aiming at strengthening the country’s economy.
LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik said that in future, the LCCI would arrange a photography function with the name of My Pakistan. He said that photographers from all over the country would be encouraged to participate in the said function. The LCCI Senior Vice President Mohammad Arshad threw light on the objectives of the Lahore shopping festival. He said that the results coming from the events were beyond his expectations. He said that participation of all the segments of the society is being ensured in the various events of the Lahore Shopping Festival.
Former LCCI president Mohammad Ali Mian said that the photography competition has brought to the limelight the parts of the country which were fast becoming history. Mian also lauded Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif for extending support to the LCCI for successful happening of all the events.
