KARACHI – A reference, filed by the federation seeking reopening the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s “judicial murder” case, has been challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC). In a constitutional petition, lawyer Sohail Hameed stated that Bhutto’s daughter, Benazir Bhutto, had twice formed government but had never taken initiative to get the case reopened.
The petitioner accused the government that it had some political intention behind issuing such a reference, adding that instead of moving a reference, the government should have formed a commission under Section 3 of the Pakistan Inquiry Commission Act 1956 to determine who got Bhutto executed.
He believed that the former PM was executed on directive by the US as he was considered a big hurdle in the US cold war with Russia in Afghanistan. “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was targeted by the ‘New World Order’.
