The director of an upcoming Charles Manson biopic has confirmed Lindsay Lohan has been offered the role of Sharon Tate. The actress is in negotiations to play the pregnant pin-up, who was killed by Manson and his followers, according to Tyler Shields.
Tate was married to filmmaker Roman Polanski at the time of her death in 1969. Shields is confident Lohan will sign on for the controversial role. She said, “We’ve worked together many, many times. She asked me about ‘Eyes of a Dreamer’… and I said, ‘Oh you should be Sharon Tate.’ And she was like, ‘That would be amazing.'”
But Lohan might have to pass on the role if she’s sentenced to serve time in prison after allegedly violating probation by stealing a necklace from a Venice, California jewellery store. The director hopes to begin filming on 15 July – a week before the actress’ next court date in the ongoing legal drama.
Shields says, “We have to shoot the movie this year, so I don’t know. We’ll have to cross that bridge when we come to it. Hopefully that’s not the case.”
