KUALA LUMPUR – World number one Martin Kaymer will lead a strong line-up of four Major-winners at this month’s $2.5 million Malaysian Open, organisers said. Last year’s PGA Championship winner will be joined by reigning British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, 2005 US Open victor Michael Campbell and Todd Hamilton, who won the 2004 British Open, at the co-sanctioned event from April 14-17.
“Golf has grown at a phenomenal rate in Malaysia… so it is always with great pleasure that our members return to this enchanting country to help further this development,” said European Tour chief executive George O’Grady. Korean teen star Noh Seung-Yul, who won last year’s Asian Tour order of merit, heads the regional charge in the Malaysian Open’s 50th edition at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
