Journalists called on to play positive role

SAHIWAL – Sahiwal Division Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq Qureshi has said that journalists should play positive role to bring a change and help administration provide relief to the people as they are the ears and eyes of the society.
He said this while addressing a delegation of National Dailies Union of Journalists Sahiwal in his office. He added that all segments of the society should play an active role in building a healthy environment and cooperate with one another to educate the people.
He said the journalists should also bring the problems faced by the people into the notice of the departments concerned in a positive manner. He further said complaint cells had been reorganised to receive the complaints of the general public and redress them promptly.
He added that 26 projects were being executed under the city package for which the Punjab government had allocated Rs 500 million. He said the campaign against encroachments would continue in a systematic manner and no political pressure would be tolerated during its execution.
COMMISSIONER’S TOUR SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED: The Sahiwal division commissioner has announced his tour schedule to other cities to monitor the development schemes and to solve the problems faced by the general public quickly. According to the schedule, he will tour Depalpur on Tuesday April 5, Okara on Thursday April 14, Pakpattan on April 19, Chichawatni on April 21, Arifwala on April 26 and Renala Khurd on April 28.
During these visits, he will also check cleanliness, encroachments, display of rate lists and other matters of public concerns.
14 UBL OFFICERS PROMOTED: The United Bank Limited (UBL) promoted 14 officers of Sahiwal to next grade over their good performance. Those promoted are Regional Head Rao Muhammad Babar from vice president to senior vice president, Sahiwal District Manager Tariq Mahmood Chaudhary, Vehari District Manager Naeem Raza Tahir from assistant vice presidents to vice presidents, branch managers, Dilshad Aslam and Muhammad Ejaz from officer grade 2 to Grade 1 while Shazia Khurshid, Javid Iqbal, Muhammad Farooq, Faisal Shafqat, Mehboob Ali, Naeem Ahmad Bhatti, Munir Ahmad, Muhammad Afzal and Saima Nosheen from officer Grade 3 to Grade 2.
