LAHORE – The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry while hearing the petition filed by the PCS officers to seek cancellation of the case against them, regretted that today the people of every class have make it a routine to take law into their hand and hold protest on any issue.
The Chief Justice also appeared not happy with the strike, boycott and the step taken by the petitioners which amount to taking the law into their hand. The Court remarked those who take the law into their hand perhaps do not merit relief from the law.
That court put off further hearing the petition, moved by Muhammad Naeem and other PSC officers, to April 22 next.
For the petitioners, Asghir Ali Gill advocate argued that a totally baseless and false FIR has been registered against their clients as they did nothing what has been alleged in the case. He said the PSC officers were protesting for the acceptance of their legitimate rights and demands and in that course they did nothing which could be termed unconstitutional nd anti-state. He said PCS officers have been targeted and victimised as such the cases against them merit to be dismissed.
Around 150 PCS officers were booked last month on the charges of instigating others to protest, distribution of provocative pamphlets, terrorism etc. The complaint of the FIR was lodged by a DSP. The petitioners are on bail in the case.
