Reopening of ZAB case people’s voice: Raisani

QUETTA – Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has praised President Asif Ali Zardari for his decision to file a reference for reopening the case of late prime minister and the founding chairman of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the chief minister welcomed the move to request the Supreme Court for reopening and re-conducting hearing into the judicial murder of the late PPP leader, saying the President Zardari’s decision was in according to the aspirations of masses.
He recalled that former chief justice of the Supreme Court Naseem Hassan Shah had admitted that execution of ZA Bhutto was contrary to the Constitution and the principles of justice. Raisani said ZAB was people’s leader and had stood for democratic norms and was the creator of the Constitution. He also expressed his delight on approval of resolution in the Balochistan Assembly which supported the reopening of the case. He also praised the role of members of Balochistan assembly for adopting a resolution welcoming the President’s decision.
