Five more killed during last 24 hours in Karachi

KARACHI – At least five more people including a trader’s son were killed in separate violent incidents in various areas of the metropolis during the last 24 hours, police said.
The latest incident in the series took place in Liyari area of Miranaka, where a man was shot down.
According to details, some armed men opened fire at a car near SP Office in Liaquatabad area, killing 18-year Faraz Hasan Rizvi and injuring his father Mumtaz Hasan, a trader.
The deceased and the injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The ill-fated father and son were on their way back home after shutting down their shop in Nazimabad Gol Market.
In another incident, 35-year old Muhammed Zaman was shot to death near Liyari Telephone Exchange in Baghdadi area. The body was brought to Civil Hospital. The deceased, a resident of Liyari and a reporter in a local newspaper, was father of two children.
Some saboteurs gunned down a man, Ishtiaq, who was standing outside his house in Defence, Khayaban-e-Rahat area of Gizri. His body was brought to Jinnah Hospital.
Police registered cases of the incidents and started investigation.
