ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani Saturday said the development of Balochistan was on the top of the government’s priorities.
Talking to Minister for Science and Technology Changez Jamali, who called on him at the PM’s House, Gilani said the introduction of Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan was a manifestation of the stern resolve of the government.
The prime minister observed that the government was keen to develop the damaged irrigation infrastructure of the flood-ravaged areas of Balochistan and assured the minister that the water share of Balochistan for the Kharif season would be ensured according to the Water Apportionment Accord.
Meanwhile, Gilani said the government had disbursed maximum funds to each and every constituency across the political divide with an objective to achieve homogenous development in all the areas. Talking to Senator Moula Bakhsh Chandio and Syed Mumtaz Alam Gilani MNA, who called on him separately at Prime Minister’s House, Gilani said the government had started consultation with all the political parties to work out a comprehensive and long-term economic reform plan for accelerating pace of development and sustainable economic growth.
He promised establishing an information technology institute in Bahawalnagar.
