KARACHI – The Dawood Public School in collaboration with the Fatimid Blood Bank organised a blood donation campaign on Saturday. VThe school’s students participated devotedly in the campaign and informed their fellow students about the benefits of blood donation. Parents and teachersalso participated in the campaign and the Fatimid Foundation presented appreciation certificates to the volunteering students.
The team of Fatimid Foundation tested the donors’ blood for haemoglobin, venereal diseases, malaria and hepatitis B and C and furnished them with blood reports and certificates. Donors were also vaccinated for hepatitis-B. Students were informed about the advantages of blood donation. Moreover, they were informed that healthy individuals of the age 16 to 60 and weighing 50kg are eligible to donate blood. Brochures on thalassaemia and advantages of blood donation were also distributed among the students.
