SHO summoned on petition seeking case against doctors

LAHORE – Additional District and Sessions Judge Ameer Khan on Saturday summoned the Naseerabad Police Station house officer on April 9 on a petition seeking registration of murder cases against office-bearers of the Young Doctors Association (YDA).
Advocate Ishtiaq Ahmed Chaudhry filed the petition submitting that dozens of patients, including children, had lost their lives due to the doctor’s strike. The petitioner said that doctors, on call of the YDA, had been observing a baseless strike in violation of the constitution.
He submitted that the illegal strike of doctors caused deaths of innocent people due to which they were liable to be booked for murder charges. Ishtiaq said that an application for registration of murder cases against doctors was filed at the police station but the SHO did not entertain it. After hearing arguments, the AD&SJ issued notice to the Naseerabad Police Station SHO.
