LAHORE – Condemning the five-weeks long doctors’ strike, eight religious parties on Saturday asked the Punjab government to take punitive steps against doctors.
In a joint meeting held at the Data Darbar, leaders of the Aalmi Tanzeem-e-Ahle Sunnat, Sunni Ulema Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim Front, Tehreek-e-Namoos-e-Risalat, Mashaikh Ahle Sunnat Pakistan, Anjuman Aashqan-e-Rasool, Markazi Milad Committee and Aalmi Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat demanded the immediate removal of doctors from service.
“These black sheep are giving a bad name to the holy profession.
There is no sign of humanity in these butchers, peoples are dying and they are busy in bargaining perks for themselves, so much callous they are that they even punish those among them who try to treat helpless patients. Political parties and people, who are supporting them, are actually playing with the galleries,” leaders of the religious parties said. Participants of the meeting asked the Punjab government to loge FIR’s against the doctors who are responsible for killings of dozens of patients.
