LDA pulls down nine illegal buildings

LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority’s Town Planning Wing demolished on Saturday as many as nine buildings being illegally constructed in PIA Housing Scheme and sealed another four on the main boulevard of the same scheme. Four buildings were being constructed as commercial structures in violation of the residential plans approved for plots 9-G, 16-F, 410-E and 40-B/1. Similarly no building plan had been got approved for under-construction buildings on plots 97-G, 422-E, 249-C and 230-C. The building being constructed on plot 14-D was also illegal. The LDA staff demolished all these buildings.
The staff also sealed four other buildings on plots 6-G, 7-G, 17-F, 12-F because of illegal commercial activity being carried out there. Meanwhile, LDA decided to recruit another 37 teachers in its institutions. Among them are 10 male and two female science teachers, 14 male and five female art teachers and one male and one female computer science teacher for secondary classes. Two vacancies of prep classes will also be filled. Applications from eligible candidates will be invited shortly.
