STATS CORNER – The final of 10th World Cup will be played between two co-hosts, India and Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Saturday. This final day/night match will be the 129th between the two teams in limited overs cricket and eighth in the World Cup.
India have a good record against Sri Lanka in previous matches. They have won 67 and lost 50 in 128 previous encounters between the two sides. As many as 11 matches did not produce any result. India also have good record against the Islanders at home. They have won 28, lost 11 and abandoned three in 42 matches played against Sri Lanka in India.
