Baluchistan’s development top priority of Govt: PM

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the development of Balochistan is the priority of the Government.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Mr Changez Jamali, Minister for Science & Technology who called on him at PM’s House on Saturday.
The introduction of Aghaz-e-Haqooe-e-Balochistan, he added, is the manifestation of the stern resolve of the Government.
The representation of Balochistan in the Federal Cabinet shows that the government is paying full attention for the progress of Balochistan, added the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister observed that the Government is keen to develop the damaged irrigation infrastructure of the flood ravaged areas of Balochistan.
The requisite funds in this regard, will be released without any delay, added the Prime Minister.
He assured the Minister that the water share of Balochistan for the Kharif Season will be ensured according to the Water Apportionment Accord (WAA) agreed to between the four provinces.
Emphasizing the importance of education for the development of Balochistan, the Prime Minister observed that Government is stressing on opening schools and poly technical institutes in all the districts of Balochistan. He maintained that the Government is planning to give 150 scholarships to brilliant Baloch students to enable them to study at best institutes of country.
Mr Jamali thanked the Prime Minister for his personal interest for the development of Balochistan. He apprised the Prime Minister of various projects taken up by his Ministry.
