KARACHI – The Sindh government has issued strict orders for security of all political parties’ offices and political and religious gatherings across the province after the Swabi and Charsadda incidents. Issuing orders to Sindh inspector general of police (IGP), Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza said that extraordinary security should be provided to all mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship. Mirza directed the IGP to maintain tight security and vigilance on April 4 on the day of the death anniversary of Pakistan People’s Party leader Zulfikar Bhutto.
The home minister said that to keep the lives and properties of the citizens safe, the Sindh police and other law enforcement agencies should make extraordinary security arrangements. Regional police officers of Sukkur have been asked to ensure protection to all processions being led to Garhi Khuda Bux where a big public gathering would be held on April 4.
