Position holder students deprived of prizes

HAFIZABAD – Position holder students of District Public School Hafizabad were deprived of their prizes due to the alleged negligence of the school’s principal. Reportedly, Hafizabad Education Department informed all the heads of the schools about the prize distribution ceremony at the education office but the principal did not bother to inform the position holder students. As a result, the students could not attend the ceremony and were deprived of receiving their prizes in the ceremony.
The parents of the position holders have protested against the negligence of the principal and demand high ups take strict action against the principle. Boys top 5th grade, girls lead middle standard exams: Punjab Examination Commission has declared the results of class 5th and 8th in which boys took three top positions in 5th and girls occupied three top positions in 8th standard in Hafizabad. The results were announced during a ceremony in the office of the Hafizabad Education Executive District Officer on Thursday. Hafizabad Elementary District Education Officer Amjid Raheem Saddle, Pindi Bhattain Deputy District Education Officer Bushra Khaild, teachers and students attended the ceremony.
In class 5th class’ examination, Hamad Sadique of National Model School, Muhammad Rehman Safadar of Grammar Model School and Waqas Haider of Government High School Sukheki stood first, second and third respectively. In the middle standard examination, Aqila Zanib of District Public School Hafizabad, Rada Fatima of District Public School Hafizabad and Roobia Fatima got first, second and third positions respectively. In the 5th class’ examination, 89.66 percent students passed the examination and in the 8th class’ examination, 71.07 percent students cleared the examination. At the end of the ceremony, Amjid Raheem Saddle distributed prizes among the position holders.
Meanwhile, a ceremony was held at Government Higher Secondary School Kolo Tarar for announcing the annual result of the school. Former parliamentary secretary Mian Afzal Hussain Tarar, Hafizabad District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Asif, Education Executive District Officer (EDO) Sohail Azhar and DEO Secondary Mahaer Shamshad Ahmad addressed the ceremony. The speakers said the future of our nation was brightening and there was no lack of talent. They urged the students to focus on education for proving themselves a useful citizen of the country.
PLAYERS’ ENTRY IN COLLEGE GROUND RESTRICTED: Hafizabad Government Degree College principal has restricted the players form entering the college despite the district government has spent a big amount to improve the college grounds for providing sports facilities.
Sports associations of the city have protested against the attitude of the principal and demanded the college administration unlock the doors of the college for the players.
MAN BOOKED FOR GIVING BOGUS CHEQUE: One man was booked on the charges of giving bogus cheque. Reportedly, accused Muhammad Asif, a resident of main bazaar Hafizabad, gave a cheque of Rs 10 lakhs to Muhammad Qayyum but the cheque was declared bogus by the concerned bank. City police have registered a case and started investigation.
