LAHORE – Results of the match between India and Pakistan claimed the life of a 40-year-old barber, who died of a heart attack on late Wednesday night, locals of the area told Pakistan Today on Thursday.
Muhammad Khaleel, resident of Abu-Bakar Saddique Colony located on Bund Road in the Sanda Police precincts, had placed thousands of rupees on Pakistan Cricket Team’s win and when the team lost the match against his expectation, he started moaning and later felt severe chest pain, after which he was rushed to a hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
The locals later took the body of the deceased back to his house. Khaleel was laid to rest by his heirs on Thursday after funerals.
On contacting Muharrar Nasir of Sanda Police Station said that they had not received such information. However it is learnt that the deceased was a barber and was running a barber shop in the area. The deceased has left wife and two children. Meanwhile two youngsters tried to commit suicide after being disheartened because of the match results. Arsalan, resident of Mochi Gate Area, went unconscious after drinking kerosene and similarly Zahoor Ali of Nawankot Area went unconscious after drinking poisonous chemical.
Both youngsters were shifted to nearby hospitals where doctors stated them as critical. In another match related incident, a man namely Saeed Dogar, shot injured two of his friends Zeeshan and Asif for abusing Pakistani Cricket Team after seeing match results in the Ferozwala Area.
