CDGK to construct more pedestrian bridges

KARACHI – Karachi Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Transport Department to construct more pedestrian bridges in the city and make Shahrah-e-Faisal a model corridor in coordination with traffic police. He said this while addressing a meeting on Road Safety and Injury Prevention at the DCO Camp Office. Indus Motors CEO Parvez Ghayas, Municipal Services executive district officer (EDO) Masood Alam, Health EDO Dr Nasir Javed, Works and Services EDO Rasheed Mughal and Transport EDO among other officers attended the meeting.
The administrator said the traffic flow on city thoroughfares was affected due to regular increase in vehicles, adding that public safety system was needed considering the present traffic conditions. He also directed the authorities relevant to remove encroachments alongside busy roads.
