Women education top priority, says Sana

FAISALABAD – The Punjab government has placed women education on top priority and all resources are being utilised to provide ample facilities of higher education to female students near their homes,” said Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan.
Speaking as the chief guest at the convocation of Government College for Women Karkhana Bazaar, he said, “It is due to the undeniable role of women in the national development and their valuable contribution could not be neglected. Our future generations could only face the future challenges if they are brought up by educated mothers.”
The ceremony was attended by PML-N MPA Khawaja Muhammad Islam, former senior parliamentarian, M Hamza, Director Colleges Rana Munawar Khan, Deputy Director Saifur Rehman, Principal Tahir Anwar, Rotary Club members, Maj (retd) Shahnwaz, Haji Zaheer Ahmad and a large number of parents and community members.
The Punjab law minister congratulated the position holder students and announced the grant of Rs 20 million for the establishment of an auditorium and a multi-purpose hall in the college. He said promotion of education was the prime mission of Shahbaz Sharif and revolutionary measures had been taken by him for the encouragement of talented students as no nation could achieve the goal of progress without having proper command over knowledge and advance technology.
He appreciated the performance of the college in the academic and extra-curricular activities and advised the female students to exploit their knowledge for the development and progress of the nation. Earlier, Khawaja Muhammad Islam highlighted the education polices of the Punjab government and said elimination of ghost schools, discouraging booti mafia and establishment of Danish schools were landmark achievements.
He congratulated the position holders and said more funds would be provided for the development of the college.
Under-training officers’ team calls ON DCO: The participants of 11th mid-career management course in National Institute of Lahore called on DCO Nasim Sadiq who briefed them on the salient features of the development plan being carried out to give a new look to Faisalabad. The members of the team were told about the geographical, industrial and development aspects of the district.
The DCO said the development strategy had been put in place under a new vision for urban development which was mainly focusing on the renovation and development of the green belts, elimination of environmental pollution and removal of encroachments to address the traffic issues and beautification of the city.
