FAISALABAD – Ugandan Ambassador Dr Muhammad Ahmed has said that his country sees Pakistan as a partner in the progress of their agriculture economy and Pakistani investors are warmly welcomed to visit Uganda for investment, adding a special package of multidimensional incentives and facilitations has been announced.
He was addressing the participants of a lunch hosted in his honour by Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Board of Directors Chairman Nadeem Aftab Sindhu. Dr Ahmed told the investors that a liberal visa policy for them was in place and business tourists’ cases were settled expeditiously. He made a special mention of the fact that his government gave a top priority to the Pakistani investors.
He added his country had surplus agriculture produce in addition to exotic fruit and vegetables. He said there were bright prospects of investment in preservation of fruits and vegetables. He was appreciative of the technology expertise of University of Agriculture Faisalabad and said that they could guide investors in these sectors.
Nadeem Aftab Sindhu welcomed the foreign envoy and said that Pakistan and Uganda shared religious and cultural values which could be exploited for further strengthening the economic relations between the two brotherly countries. He welcomed the offer of Dr Muhmmad Ahmed and said Pakistani investors would soon visit Uganda to explore the investment opportunities in that country.
He added Pakistan could also help Uganda in further improving and upgrading its electricity network. The lunch was also attended by Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan, Dr Niaz Ahmed, CEO FESCO Tariq Mehmood Chattha and the elite of the city.
