Nation-building departments asked to expedite uplift work

SAHIWAL – Sahiwal Divisional Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq Qureshi has directed nation-building departments to accelerate the pace of development carrying out under the city package and ensure quality so that people can benefit from these projects for a long time.
He said this while chairing a meeting to review the projects of the city package. He said the beautification of the city should also be ensured after the completion of this package and the citizens should also be involved in this task.
Under this Rs 500 million package, 11 road-repair projects, including Rs 99.935 million from View Hotel to Mission Chowk via Mazdoor Puli, Rs 23.748 million from Arifwala Chowk to Muhammadpur Chowk, 62.77 million from Pakpattan Chowk to DHQ hospital, Rs eight million project of reconstruction of service road under the second overhead bridge, reconstruction of Tehsil Road with a cost of Rs 18.284 million, reconstruction of Gulistan Road with the cost of Rs 10.834 million,
widening and improvement of link road between Madhali Road and Noor Shah Road via Pak Avenue Colony with the cost of Rs 9.585 million, widening and improvement of road from Star CNG Station to Masjid Shuhada in Farid Town with the cost of Rs 12.7 million, reconstruction of Depalpur bazaar with the cost of Rs 6.555 million and improvement of the road from Chowk Yadgar to railway station with the cost of Rs 7.979 million, have been initiated.
The commissioner directed the Highways Department to ensure a close coordination with the tehsil municipal administrations (TMA) and other departments and said that efforts should also be made to facilitate commuters during the completion of these projects.
