Hosts clinch Raiders Cup

LAHORE – An all important goal by Somalia-born Abdul Qadir helped Raiders FC clinch the All Punjab Raiders Football Cup 2011. Raiders beat Model Town FC 1-0, keeping their 17th minute lead alive until full time. Muslim got three chances to level the issue in the second session, but great goal keeping by Raiders’ Muzammil Hussain kept them at bay.
The chief guest Malik Muhammad Afzal Khokhar (MNA) awarded Raiders FC skipper Muhammad Asif the winner’s cup, while MTFC skipper Umar Khan, also Man of the Final, collected the runner-up’s trophy. Bata FC bagged the Fair Play trophy.
