LAHORE – An accountability court on Thursday extended the physical remand of Zahid Farooq Cheema, an accomplice of Syed Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah, until April 14. Cheema in connivance with Gillani, their associates and close relatives lured investors to deposit money with them on the promise of returning their deposits with unprecedented profit and to double to their investments after the expiry of specified period.
CANAL MOTOR SCAM: An accountability court on Thursday extended the physical remand of Muhammad Anwar Khan involved in Canal Motors Scam until April 14. Anwar is involved in concealing crime proceeds in conveyance and abetment of Rana Qaisar Nazir, the main accused in the scam. Heavy banking transactions have been observed among the accounts of Anwar and his firm, Speedy Wheels. The accused collected over Rs 1.2 billion by cheating public at large.
