LAHORE – Punjab legislators, terming the Indian invitation to Pakistani leadership to watch the Pak-India cricket semi-final at Mohali a good omen, expressed the hope that it will restore confidence between the two countries.
Speaking at the ceremony “Message of Peace” held outside the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday, PML-N backed MPA Farah Deba said that confidence building will pave the way to solutions to Kashmir and other disputes between the two countries.
She hoped Pakistani cricket team would win the World Cup, as the nation was praying for their victory. She said that the announcement of Punjab CM to give land to each player in the case of victory was a ‘pleasant thing’. On the occasion, 11 pigments were released. The PA speaker and deputy speaker, PMAs and film stars Reema and Muammar Rana attended the ceremony.
