Sindh Assembly in session again from today

KARACHI – Despite the government managing little business of note during the last Sindh Assembly session, the provincial legislature returns in session from today after Governor Ishratul Ebad issued a notification to convene the Assembly. The new session comes sooner than expected, as parliamentary year requirements have already been met and the days of business will be counted in the current year. The new Sindh Assembly year will officially begin from April 6.
Tuesday will be a private members’ day, according to Sindh Assembly Secretary Hadi Bux Buriro. It is expected, however, that two out-of-turn resolutions will be tabled on Tuesday. The first will recommend to the Federal government to file a reference to reopen the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case. The second will be to slate the American pastor who torched a copy of the Holy Quran.
