Hamesh’s standing crops to be auctioned today

HAFIZABAD – On the direction of National Accountability Bureau, standing crop of wheat on 51 acres of land of former Bank of Punjab President Hamesh Khan will be auctioned on today (Wednesday) at the Pindi Bhattian tehsil office at 11am.
This was revealed by the district officer revenue while talking to reporters on Tuesday. This land of Hamesh Khan is situated in villages Harsa Atlay and Kot Meeran.
RS 6B TO BE DISBURSED AMONG STUDENTS: The Punjab government is giving Rs 6 billion among talented and needy students as stipends through the Punjab Education Endowment Fund. This was stated by Punjab Cooperatives Secretary Khalid Pervez while talking to media people at Pindi Bhatian after visiting various examination centres of class 9.
He said the Punjab government was taking effective measure to curb cheating in the examination system and ensure fair and free conduct of all the examinations. During his visit to Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pindi Bhatian, he directed Deputy District Officer Sadia Tehreem to remove all kinds of encroachments on the way to the school immediately.
HIGHWAY XEN, CLERK BOOKED FOR TAKING BRIBES: The highway executive engineer Hafizabad and a clerk were booked by Anti-Corruption Establishment on the charges of receiving Rs 400,000 as bribes. According to details, Highway Executive Engineer Hafizabad Khalid Usmani and clerk Nadeem Butt allegedly received Rs 400,000 for awarding contract of a road construction scheme, but they neither awarded the contract nor did they return the money.
Contractor Zulfiqar Ali submitted an application against the accused and after an enquiry, the Anti-Corruption Establishment registered a case against both the accused. No arrest has been made so far.
