LAHORE – Students of Intermediate from Forman Christian College University (FCCU) protested on Monday against the FCCU administration for withholding their admissions for the intermediate examination 2011.
The demonstration was organized near the Canal Road in which the students strongly protested against the decision and demanded that authorities concerned take notice of the matter. Students claimed that it was only students who bribed officials that shall be able to sit in the exams.
Upon being contacted FC College University’s Registrar Dr Hamid Saeed said he was unaware of the total number of students whose admissions were withheld. He, however, said last year courts decided in favour of the college when students moved the court against a similar decision. “We are just following rules set by BISE Lahore”, he added. Protestors told reporters that FC College administration withheld their admissions for intermediate exam 2011 on the basis of short attendance but added this was unfair. They claimed that over 300 students would have to wait until next year to appear.
The students also alleged that many of those barred from appearing in the exam had genuine reasons for short attendance but no one was ready to address the issue. The last date for sending admission forms for intermediate examination 2011 has passed making the matter more complex.
