MNA seeks Kurram tribesmen’s rescue

ISLAMABAD – Chairman of Standing Committee for SAFRON and MNA, Sajid Hussain Toori on Saturday warned the government to recover the innocent people of his tribe (Toori Qabila) within 24 hours failing which they would take law in their own hands by launching operation against the anti-social elements. Unknown gunmen killed 8 people and kidnapped 45 in raids last night on two minibuses in Pakistan’s tribal region along the Afghan border, from which 9 people succeeded escape, according to the media reports.
Addressing a press conference here at National Press Club (NPC), Sajid Toori said that security forces were backing the terrorist. “The security forces and our intelligence agencies are supporting the terrorists in exchange of money,” he alleged adding that the security forces were spreading speculations of sectarianism brawls also He claimed that there were no sectarianism clashes in Khurram agency. “Some terrorist forces want to sabotage the peace agreement between Sunni and Shia community (Toori and Bangash tribes) which was signed on February 3 to end sectarianism brawls from the region,” he said. He criticized the Jirga process, saying the government had failed to resolve disputes through it.
The two innocent children that were abducted from Khurram agencies on March 5 have still not been recovered, he said. He complained that the judiciary and media were not paying heed to their circumstances and he appealed to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take a suo moto notice of the situation.
20 recovered: Online reported that at least 20 people who were kidnapped during an attack on passenger buses were recovered from Kohat on Saturday. Kohat Commissioner Khalid Yousafzai said 12 were still missing. He said eight culprits were also arrested during search operations and added that the police were interrogating from them.
