LAHORE – Harbanspura locals beat up four Muhafiz Squad police officers after midnight on Friday, thinking that they were dacoits. The local police late the same night reached the spot on a wireless call and arrested six people while different cases were registered against 18.
Some locals who mistook them as robbers dressed in police uniform beat up Sajid Husain, Tariq and Jibran Sohail from the Mujahid Squad near Shalamar Housing Scheme. The three policemen had spotted three ‘suspicious’ individuals and when they asked the spotted men to get themselves frisked, they started shouting that the policemen were actually robbers dressed in police uniform. The locals gathered and started thrashing the three policemen while the suspects fled.
