Security beefed up in Sindh

KARACHI – The Sindh government on Friday issued orders for extraordinary security measures in the province especially Karachi after a suicide car bomb blast in Hangu left eight people dead and 25 others wounded.
All law enforcement agencies were asked to keep close liaison with intelligence agencies, follow their guidelines and prepare joint action plans for keeping the law and order situation in control. According to a press release, Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza directed the inspector general of police and Karachi CCPO that a special security plan should be made for Karachi and extensive patrolling in different areas of the city be carried out so that citizens can feel safe.
He also asked the city police to identify areas where the law enforcers were facing difficulties in maintaining security. According to the security plan at district and town levels, security at all mosques, seminaries, imambargahs, shrines, worship places of minorities, localities of minorities, consulates of different countries and offices of consuls and their residences, public places, parks, fast food chains, hotels, airports, railways stations and other sensitive installations has been tightened on emergency basis to thwart any attempt of terrorism in the province.
