PU thrash LUMS in Inter-varsity Rugby

LAHORE – The second Pakistan Inter-varsity Rugby Championship started on Friday with some great matches. The championship is being played in Model Town A block and is being hosted by University of Lahore under the auspices of the HEC.
The Referees, touch judges and technical officials have been provided by Pakistan Rugby Union. The first upset of the day was seen when unseeded University of Punjab, who are playing their first ever rugby championship, overpowered the veteran and much fancied LUMS team 22-5.
Second seeded University of Central Punjab convincingly beat UMT with some great runs and good tackles, Agriculture University Faisalabad defeated BZU Multan 17-0, UMT beat Superior University 24-0, while GCU beat University of Peshawar 15-5.
Around twelve universities are taking part in the event, including University of Bahawalpur, University of Central Punjab, University of Lahore, University of Veterinary Sciences, University of Peshawar, GC University Lahore, LUMS, University of Punjab, NECS Islamabad, Agriculture University Faisalabad, BZU Multan, Superior University and University of Management and Technology.
