LAHORE – Kuldip Nayar, who is heading an Indian peace delegation to Pakistan, visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences on Thursday. Nayar talked on Pakistan-India relations to an audience comprising LUMS students, members of the civil society and a host of former ambassadors of Pakistan. He stressed the need for peace between the two countries. He was of the opinion that the youth in both countries are crucial to shedding the mistrust that has developed since
the partition.
The talk was followed by a question-and-answer session. Nayar was requested to encourage Indian students to come to LUMS as part of exchange programs between Indian universities and LUMS. Nayar is a veteran Indian journalist and a syndicated columnist, noted for his long career as a left-wing political commentator. Since 1985, Nayar has been writing a syndicated column that runs in 80 publications in 14 languages, both overseas and at home, including some of India’s most influential newspapers and magazines.
