LAHORE – Guard Group has qualified for the main final of the Spring Polo Cup 2011. They will take on Newage Cables on Sunday, while Pony Express will face PESSI in the subsidiary final. On Friday, Newage Cables defeated PESSI 9-6, while Guard Group crushed Pony Express 9-1.
Shah Shamyl Alam produced a brilliant performance, while Taimur Mawaz Khan and Adnan Jalil Azam supported him with two and one goals, respectively. The losing side got their goals through Sufi Muhammad Aamir, Atif Tiwana and Hassan Ali Farrukh.
In the other match, the lone goal by Pony Express came through Naveed M Sheikh as Zain Khan Khakwani, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Hamza Mawaz Khan and Taimur Ali Malik led their team to victory. Umpires for the matches were Ahmad Khan, Zain Khan Khakwani, Shaukat Ali Malik and Hassan Ali Farrukh.
