LAHORE – A pangolin was caught by the Rescue 1122 team in an urban area of Lahore on Saturday. The Lahore Zoo and the WWF did not take the animal in, Pakistan Today has learnt. Dr Saman Bhatti, veterinary officer of the zoo, said the animal was a scaly cousin from the anteater family. “It was fine health-wise so I advised the rescue team to leave it in a forest far from the city where it could feed itself naturally. Also it cannot be kept in the zoo because it digs deep and it would have been very difficult to take care of,” she says.
pathetic response from zoo. So now its resuse's job to play animal saver and take it to the forest? what if they dump the poor creature some place? mati pao
Its a Big one, rare to see, seems like WWF not interested either for Wild life in Pakistan…..
