ISLAMABAD – The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Thursday announced that all CNG stations would remain open throughout the week across Punjab as a protest against two-day weekly closure. “A massive capital has been injected into the CNG sector, how we can remain silent seeing investors being deprived of their investment’s blessings and laying off workers,” association’s chairman Ghyias Abdullah Paracha said.
Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have already full week supply per court orders, while CNG outlets in Punjab are to observe Friday and Saturday as day-off under SNGPL load management plan. The association resorted to confrontation like protest strategy when its recent talks with the SNGPL officials reached an impasse, with the latter excusing to make any definite decision on two-day weekly off for the CNG filling stations.
The SNGPL General Manager, Islamabad, Amir Naseem, said he did not have the authority to alter or withdraw the CNG closure schedule. He said the load management committee headed by deputy managing director has been constituted to overview the gas demand and supply situation and announce any definite decision regarding the weekly closure.
