Malik vows to defend country against terrorists

ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday vowed to defend the country against terrorists. Addressing a ceremony held at the police lines for paying tributes to the martyrs of Islamabad Police, the interior minister said that the terrorists were trying to destabilize the country. “We are the best… we will continue to be the best and the government would also continue its efforts for safeguarding the country,” Malik said while addressing the heirs of the martyrs of Islamabad Police.
He warned the terrorists that the law enforcers will continue to chase them till peace is not restored in the country. He paid tribute to Shaheed IG NWFP Siffat Ghayur and directed the IG police to name training companies in the names of each martyr of the Islamabad police. He wished luck to the police officials adding that the Islamabad police were facing real challenge as the capital city was on top of the hit list of the terrorists. He laid floral wreath at the National Police Martyrs’ Monument. He also distributed cash money among the families of the martyrs and heard their problems.
