7 more fall prey to targeted violence

KARACHI – At least seven people were gunned down in the latest spate of targeted killings in various parts of the city on Wednesday. Rahat Fayyaz was killed in the area of Peerabad in Banaras. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).
An unidentified man was gunned down in the Garden police precincts. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). Thirty-year-old Muhammad Saleem was gunned down at the Khadda Market on the Haji Ismail Road in the Baghdadi police precincts. His body was shifted to the CHK.
Unidentified men sprayed Shahzad Memon alias Bhayya with bullets near Hussainabad’s Koko Park in the Azizabad area. Police said that the victim was nominated in several First Information Reports. His body was shifted to ASH. Men carrying weapons killed Ghulam Faqeer Muhammad, a guard of a government official’s house, near the Malir Tanki area of Saudabad.
His body would be transported to his hometown in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Four armed men on two motorcycles sprayed a man and his son with bullets in the Lasi Goth area of Sohrab Goth. Fifty five-year-old Ghulam Haider and his 25-year-old son Ghulam Aashiq suffered bullet wounds. The men were taken to ASH; however, Haider succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The Sohrab Goth police recovered a bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man from Kathore Morr on the Super Highway. His body was shifted to ASH.
Around seven citizens suffered bullet wounds in various areas across the city and were shifted to the CHK, ASH and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
