Six militants killed in Swat

MINGAWARA – Foiling an attempt by the militant to enter Swat from Lower Dir, the security forces shot dead six of them and recovered a huge quantity in early hours on Tuesday.
The security forces were on routine patrolling on the borders with Lower Dir at Matta when they noticed a group of militants and asked them to surrender but they refused. It triggered an encounter during which all the six militants were shot dead.
The officials confirmed the identity of three them from different villages of Matta whereas three others were yet to be identified. The dead bodies of Minhaj uddin, Mohammad Ali and Rehman Ali have been handed over to the relatives.
The officials said two personnel of the security forces were also injured. It is pertinent to mention that it was the second attempt by the militants after which they failed to enter Swat from Dir region.
